MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS WIND INSTRUMENTS

CLASSIFICATION OF INSTRUMENTS

musicologists In 1914 Curt Sachs and Erich Hornbostel devised a new classification method that, based on the physical properties of every instrument, claimed to be able to cover all the existing ones. Identifies four main classes of musical instruments, which in turn are divided into groups and subgroups, depending on the mode of sound generation:

Idiophones: are those instruments in which sound is produced by vibration of the instrument same as in the case of the keys or any other instrument that produces sound when hammered: castanets rattle, rattle, etc .

Membranophones: The membranophones are those in which the sound is generated by the vibration of a membrane, such as the drum, any drum or tambourine.

Aerophones: are called wind instruments, where the sound is generated by vibrating a column of air, as in flutes.

Stringed: are called strings, where the sound is generated by the vibration of a string, as in the case of the harp, guitar, etc.
During the twentieth century developed a new type of instrument, called:
Record-
: In these instruments, the sound is generated by electronic means, such as the synthesizer. Not to be confused with electroacoustic instruments where the sound is generated in a non-mail, but electronically modified, as in the case of the electric guitar.

This Blog for better identification, I have classified them in a more general string instruments, wind and percussion . You can access the photos through down the right or go down directly to the cursor or mouse wheel.
